Fantastic screencast! I think student response systems can have a great part in classrooms. I do see what you are saying that it could limit social interaction. However, I think there are other ways to incorporate that into your class while still being able to utilize response systems in a great way. I think when it comes to technology, it is all about balance. We must keep the personal touch in a classroom while using technology to increase learning and engagement.

ReplyDeleteGreat job on the screencast! I actually recorded myself on my webcam on the same topic. I'm really interested in the effectiveness of an interactive board such as the promethean board mentioned by Mrs. Power. I know that it definitely engages students with its technology, but I wonder if it really enhances the learning outcome. I think we won't really know until we use it ourselves in the classroom.
It is amazing to see all the benefits of using an electronic board in the classroom. It not only makes teaching interesting, but also saves us time in identifying students who are getting the lessons faster than the others. I also have an electronic board in my room, but not the Promethean board. It is really interesting to see what options we have in terms on the functionality of these boards.
